Component Repairs Manager

<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will manage the repair function for the allocated accounts to achieve effective and efficient functioning of the total process of component repairs; including those of nacelle and thrust reverser. Strategically plan; co-ordinate and manage the logistics of the overhaul/ repair of components for the allocated accounts; to control their costs and to assure their availability; thus contributing to the reduction of the airline's unit cost of operation.</p> <p><strong>Job Outline </strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop short term and long term strategic planning for the overhaul and repair of components with the allocated suppliers and in-house workshop; in order to ensure maintenance and operational plans of the airline are achieved. Maintain a ratio of approximately 80% of repair orders of low complexity; to be processed through a coordination team; with the remaining 20% of repair orders of high complexity requiring technical review; to be processed by a Component Repair Engineer.</li> <li>Devise and implement cost control measures for nacelle and components; to ensure the maintenance cost is kept to an optimum level; by negotiating long term business agreements providing preferential pricing and support arrangements.</li> <li>Partner with Procurement and Logistics to lead or support the negotiations of long term agreements with the allocated accounts; to achieve reduction in inventory per aircraft and life cycle cost as well as enhanced support; to ensure that target service levels for maintenance are achieved.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proactively monitor performance of the allocated account through reports supplied by the vendor performance group; and effectively manage performance shortfalls in a timely manner; escalating issues to senior management where necessary.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage the process of analysis and evaluation of quotations; Turn Around Time (TAT); costing; invoices; and other technical / administrative functions; in order to ensure close support and continuous collaboration between the units of the section.&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise with overhaul shops and vendors for the establishment of in-house capability and vendor facilities in Dubai for Component repairs; based on cost benefit studies developed with the Component Repair Controller; finance and Overhaul shops and vendors; to improve logistics and cost of repairs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in departmental committee meetings; including modification; component contracts; in-house facility development and float review; highlighting opportunities for in-house capability in order to meet strategic priorities and reduce repair cost.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience &nbsp; </strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics) or Licensed Aircraft Engineer. Aeronautical Engineering degree holders preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>8 years’ experience to include the interpretation of repair contracts, proposals and the ability to review shop findings reports, Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Component Maintenance Schedule&nbsp; (CMS), Aircraft Maintenance Schedule (AMS), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Service Bulletin (SB) &amp;&nbsp; Engineering Order (EO).&nbsp;</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of repair &amp; warranty models and the principles of reviewing repair contract proposals.</li> <li>Knowledge of material planning, stores receipt &amp; despatch and their process interface with repairs.</li> <li>Knowledge of development planning and maintenance.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits:</strong></p> <p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE.
