About this role
<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate for this role will design; develop and manage the RO systems to ensure optimal use for maximising passenger revenue by developing business specifications for new systems and implementation after testing. You will be analysing data and producing crucial reports required by senior management to complement commercial objectives.</p> <p><strong>Job Accountabilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain system parameters of RO Systems after analysing data using trend analysis techniques and forecasting models. These functions are crucial to ensure that passenger revenue is maximised these activities affect the accuracy of passenger traffic forecasts; which in turn is crucial for formulating sales strategies and achieving a reduction in the unit cost of operation yearly.</li> <li>Establish and maintain system parameters of RO Systems. Constant liaison with Commercial; Mercator; Pricing; CSSM/CAM; Apt Svcs etc on the effectiveness of RO Systems in supporting sales in EK offices; GDS; EOL etc. and supporting the company objective of increased direct sales.</li> <li>Developing of business specification for new RO systems; enhancements to the existing systems to suit the changing business requirements and establish controls on the integrity and functionality of new system releases by developing appropriate system test plans.</li> <li>Develop procedures and implement checks on the effectiveness of RO Systems to support commercial objectives. Automation of business processes; both through IT developed systems and in-house developed mini systems to improve the efficiency of the RO systems.</li> <li>Periodic review and enhancement of Auto-Pilot features in the Revenue Management systems to get the system to take care of routine decisions so that the flight analysts can focus their attention on other important revenue opportunities Analyse flown revenue data from RAPID and derive average fares for use by PROS to have optimal fare mix allocation for future flights.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p> <ul> <li>Commercial/Sales. Revenue Optimisation (5+ Years)</li> <li>Degree or Honours (12 years +3 or equivalent)</li> <li>Strong background in Mathematics</li> <li>Experience in airline industry - Should have experience in revenue analysis in context of Airline Business and in developing business requirement specifications.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge in handling Databases and programming in MS query language.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of the functioning of the following systems required to carry out the job accountabilities: MARS; MACS; GDS; PROS; PROMIS; CVIEW; SPACE; RAPID; REVENUE PLANNING SYSTEM; FOCUS.</li> <li>Thoroughly proficient with MS access programming; advanced spreadsheet techniques and presentation graphics.</li> <li>Specific knowledge of the airline industry and its global distribution channels; including an understanding of the internet; e-commerce; direct sales and marketing.</li> <li>FFP knowledge would be advantageous.</li> <li>A systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a capacity to work around problems.</li> <li>Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a fast changing environment.
