<p>Norwegian is currently seeking an experienced Manager Flight Support for our latest AOC, Norwegian Air UK. The position will be based at our offices at London Gatwick Airport. This role will involve some international travel. The Manager Flight Support (MFS) reports to the Director Flight Operations. The MFS will be responsible for developing, leading and directing, overseeing and managing all aspects of NUK’s Flight Support Department. The duties and responsibilities of the MFS shall include and not be limited to:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Participate in special projects as directed by the DFO.</li> <li>Lead and manage NUK’s Flight Support Department.</li> <li>Ensure that the department’s resources are used in a proper and effective manner.</li> <li>Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with all relevant departments (including but not limited to, Commercial, OCC, Technical, and IT).</li> <li>As required, design and develop effective staff training programmes, ensuring mandatory, professional and quality standards are specified and delivered.</li> <li>Comply with all applicable business and industry specific legislative/regulatory requirements</li> <li>Introduce and manage robust operating procedures.</li> <li>Establish and update the relevant processes and / or procedure descriptions relevant to the position and area of responsibility.</li> <li>Ensure through oversight that NUK’s partners deliver flight support services which meet the criteria and standards as defined under agreements for contracted activities.</li> <li>Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and in particular with NUK’s service providers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Skills, Experience & Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Operational experience in a leadership role within the aviation sector.</li> <li>Experience working in a flight support department with a Boeing operator.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience in the management of flight support staff operating in the areas of Navigation, Aircraft Performance, Flight Operations Engineering, EFB Administration and Aircraft Library Coordination.</li> <li>Knowledgeable on / literate with IT systems relevant to the airline’s flight support operations (detailed below)</li> <li>Flight Planning systems – LIDO, PPS etc</li> <li>Airport & Obstacle Database - Jeppesen Obstacle Database</li> <li>Electronic Flight Bag</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.</li> <li>Ability to quickly analyse the impact of aviation and geo-political events and decide a course of action.</li> <li>Comfortable taking and accepting responsibility</li> <li>Knowledge of relevant EASA and national regulations.</li> <li>Able to delegate and work under intensive time pressures.</li> <li>Previous experience in driving and managing change within a complex environment.</li> <li>Experience in either short or long haul environments (preferably both).</li> <li>Safety Management System competency is beneficial</li> </ul>
