About this role

<p align="center"><strong>Head of Procurement – Aviation – Dublin </strong></p> <p>Our client has experienced significant growth over the previous years by introducing brand new aircraft to its fleet, launching many new routes and establishing new bases in Europe, Asia and the US.</p> <p>This role covers all aspects of Procurement across all of the of the AOC’s and includes the following functions as well as a number of others:</p> <p>Engineering and Quality; Base and Ground Operations; Inflight; Office and Maintenance; Training; Supply Chain Partners; Hospitality and Catering provisions for staff; Uniform and associated material costs; IT infrastructure</p> <p><strong>Technical Procurement </strong></p> <ul> <li>Controlling costs by monitoring unit pricing and issuing RFQ’s to current and prospective materials and supply chain vendors both locally and internationally</li> <li>Control of aircraft parts going to external repair vendors</li> <li>Reviewing cost of repairs from a technical perspective</li> <li>Approving repair quotes including monitoring &amp; controlling costs</li> <li>Monitoring the performance of all materials supply agencies</li> <li>To ensure the optimum contracting solution is selected on each occasion</li> <li>To lead contract negotiations and to ensure best possible relationships are established within the appropriate legal framework</li> <li>To ensure compliance with procedures, Irish and E.U. procurement requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Deliverables:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Planning in collaboration with the relevant business managers the appropriate procurement strategies</li> <li>Preparation, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award of contracts</li> <li>Developing appropriate cross functional teams to assist in planning and specifying requirements</li> <li>Developing project plans, schedules and contract documentation with the project teams</li> <li>Providing on-going support, product and process knowledge to the business as required</li> <li>Managing and developing supporting Category Buyers where relevant</li> <li>Promoting good commercial practice and compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the airline</li> <li>Ensuring commercial and legally sound contracts are in place for all construction related services</li> <li>Fostering key relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the service provision offers maximum internal value to the organisation</li> <li>Providing advice and contractual support to the relevant business managers through the life of a contract</li> <li>Ensuring the appropriate procedures are in place and adhered to for the tendering, contracting and awarding of contracts</li> <li>Developing appropriate KPI’s, management reports and monitoring progress against agreed objectives</li> <li>Benchmarking on various services: translation, maintenance, budget expenses</li> <li>Vendor selection for third party airport contracts for ticketing, ground handling, etc.</li> <li>Contracts (IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreements) and Service Level Agreements (SLA)</li> <li>Support and facilitate the Accounts Department with respect to invoicing queries, process flow definition, interpretation of contractual obligations, coding of invoices, etc.</li> </ul> <p>Support line account with preparation of annual budget for Ground Operations Direct Operating Costs (DOCs)</p> <p><strong>Candidate Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree or Third Level equivalent qualification in Procurement and/or supply chain</li> <li>Relevant experience within an airline or airport</li> <li>Minimum 7 years procurement experience at a senior management level</li> <li>Willingness to travel</li> </ul> <p>This role will be based in Dublin and will require a fair proportion of travel as appropriate.&nbsp;</p>
