<p>GAL Air Navigation Services (GAL ANS) LLC is currently seeking a Head of Approach for Abu Dhabi Airport. </p> <p>The Head of Abu Dhabi Approach (HADA) will be responsible for the delivery of Air Traffic Services (ATS) at Abu Dhabi Approach (including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Sweihan Approaches) in accordance with National and/or International Civil Aviation Regulations, policies, procedures and recommendations and in accordance with departmental procedures, policies, instructions and notices. The HADA will also be responsible for assisting in the develop of the long term strategy for Abu Dhabi Approach by assessing operational and business demands and ensuring that the operational unit has the capability to meet future demands safely and efficiently.</p> <p><strong>Abu Dhabi International Airport</strong></p> <p>Currently the second largest airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one of the fastest growing airport hubs globally, Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) serves over 93 destinations in 56 countries</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure Air Traffic Services within Abu Dhabi Approach are delivered to the agreed contractual KPI`s and aligned to customer expectations/growth demands and develop.</li> <li>Update and assist in the implementation of a long term 5 year strategic plan for the development of ATS to meet the business/operational needs of internal and external customers.</li> <li>Designing and modifying policies and procedures to address changing requirements in both the medium and short term and ensure that all policies and procedures are current and fully operational for the purpose of managing safe and efficient air traffic control operations across the area of responsibility.</li> <li>Ensure the appropriate unit operational manning levels are maintained and that Abu Dhabi Approach staff are given the full opportunity to achieve and maintain all competency levels required, and meet the vocational and personal requirements of their relevant positions.</li> <li>Promote and implement the ANS Safety Management System within Abu Dhabi Approach and ensure that safety remains primary to the delivery of Air Navigation Services.</li> <li>Ensure that the Quality Management System is managed within the section.</li> <li>Foster collaborative relationships within Abu Dhabi Airports and their customers that include, but are not limited to GCAA, Etihad Airways, adjacent ANSP`s and other airline customers.</li> <li>Record, report and monitor all safety incidents.</li> <li>Ensure all procedures are correctly disseminated through the GCAA AIP or other means as necessary.</li> <li>Ensure that comprehensive contingency planning is in place for all eventualities that may affect the provision of ATS at Abu Dhabi Airport.</li> <li>Close coordination with Head of Abu Dhabi Tower</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A comprehensive employment history that demonstrates a sound working knowledge and thorough understanding of Civil Air Traffic Services functionality.</li> <li>Currently the holder of, or previously held, ICAO (or equivalent) and/or UAE recognized Air Traffic Control licenses in Aerodrome Control Instrument and preferably Approach Radar Control.</li> <li>Formal management experience and training is required.</li> <li>In depth knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices, ATC procedures and standards maintenance, recruitment and training procedures.</li> <li>Sound knowledge of all elements within ATM including SMS, QMS, AIS and Training and Standards.</li> <li>Bachelor`s Degree in Aviation Management, or equivalent preferred plus a sound knowledge of GCAA CARs and other relevant documentation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Experience</strong></p> <p>Candidates will have not less than 12 years’ experience as a licensed air traffic controller at an international airport operation including a minimum of 5 years of senior air traffic control supervisory or management experience in a post accountable for the daily delivery of an air traffic control service. Furthermore candidates will be expected to have experience with strategy development based on operational and business demands.</p> <p>Excellent in depth of knowledge of ICAO regulations and their applicability with regard to the provision of Air Traffic Services in a civilian environment is expected along with previous experience of liaison with a National or International regulators. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate project management experience connected to the provision of Air Traffic Services.</p>
