We also deliver postgraduate education to Officers in the Qatar Armed Forces through the Joaan Bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College in Doha.Focussing on our core values, and creating a positive environment for employees to thrive, we look forward to a bright future as we continue to grow with the region.</p> <p><strong>Reporting to Team Leader DWC Tower Training</strong><br /> Job Family<br /> Training</p> <p><strong>Role Context<br /> Key Purpose</strong><br /> To monitor the training needs of ATC staff and to implement the necessary training programmes to ensure the section operates according to internationally approved ATC standards. To work within current training procedures under the guidance of the Team Leader and Head of Training.</p> <p><strong>Structure and reporting relationship</strong><br /> The jobholder has a moderate-high degree of independence and has authorisation for decision making Issues at medium-high level. Some decisions must be communicated to Team Leader.<br /> Makes decisions in situations that fall outside established guidelines or where the choice among options is less obvious.<br /> Motivates and trains staff, ensures quality of work, utilization of staff, and achievement of work targets, while being an advocate for change and new ways of working.</p> <p><strong>Role Essentials<br /> Based on the specific requirement of the role<br /> Key accountabilities</strong><br />      * Conduct training needs analysis of ATC staff on an on-going basis<br />      * Identify and develop training programmes for DWC TWR that address the staff training needs.<br />      * Coach and develop DWC staff on an on-going basis to ensure they are operating to requisite standards, deliver training as required.<br />      * Develop and maintain a system for evaluating the effectiveness of training in relation to staff performance.<br />      * Liaise with other dans training sections to co-ordinate training requirements.<br />      * Monitor international trends/developments in ATC training programmes.<br />      * Maintain training records and documents for ATC.<br />      * Maintain operational currency for maintenance of necessary ATC ratings.</p> <p><strong>Essential technical and professional skills , knowledge and qualifications</strong><br />      * Comprehensive knowledge of ATC procedures, standards maintenance, recruitment and training procedures, local, GCAA and ICAO instructions.<br />      * Good knowledge of internationally accepted best practice in training techniques and procedures and airport organization and procedures<br />      * A mature, proactive and responsible approach to work with initiative and problem solving capability;<br />      * Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organisation and possess a high level personal presence and credibility<br />      * Ability to interpret complex data and scan the environments for market trends that will impact current practices and programs and make necessary recommendations<br />      * Must have basic team management and organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines and schedules.<br />      * Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and work in a geographically dispersed environment.<br />      * Good judgment and decision-making skills;<br />      * Possess sound leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and promote high performance working with a natural coaching style<br />      * Demonstrate exemplary tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues and individuals.<br />      * Applicants must possess at least 5 years’ experience as a rated Aerodrome Controller at a Radar Controlled Aerodrome. The applicant must hold a current Certificate of Competence for DWC Tower. In addition, the applicant must have held an OJTI Endorsement for a minimum of 3 years.<br />      * Experience in Training Package Development and delivery is essential. The applicant must have completed a course in Classroom Instructional Techniques or equivalent qualification.<br />      * Applicant should have demonstrated People Management experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team of ATC Training Specialists<br />      * Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills<br />      * Customer service, influencing and negotiation skills<br />      *  Initiative and commitment to achieve results<br />      * Situational awareness, adaptability and innovation<br />      * An ability to work make correct decisions under stress<br />      * A valid relevant medical certificate<br />      * Computer literacy with MS office packages skills</p> <p><strong>Additional/special features of the role</strong><br />      * Minimum of 5 years ATC Experience<br />      * Hold a DWC Tower Certificate of Competence<br />      * Hold a valid DWC Tower OJTI Endorsement<br />      * Hold Classroom Instructor Certification or have completed an Approved course of Instructional techniques.<br />      * Demonstrated ability in training course development, design and delivery</p> <p><strong>Additional Information</strong><br /> Serco is committed to Equal Employment Opportunities and is committed to ensuring the safety of all of its employees through its Zero Harm initiative.
