<p><strong>Associate Vice President OCC |&nbsp;Aviation |&nbsp;West Africa&nbsp;<br /> Competitive &nbsp;|&nbsp; Permanent&nbsp;</strong><br /> &nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Are you passionate about the Aviation Sector?&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Do you have at least 10 years ‘experience in the Airline industry?&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Do you have extensive experience in OCC?&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> If you believe you have what it takes to succeed within a competitive and highly rewarding company, then this is the perfect job for you.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> <strong>Job Description:</strong></p> <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Vice President OCC to work for a well-established and growing Airline.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> As the successful Associate Vice President OCC, you will be responsible for encompassing the organisational responsibility for the management of the company’s Operations Control Centre, and acting as the Deputy SVP Operations when required.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> &nbsp;<br /> <strong>As the successful AVP OCC, you will be responsible for:</strong><br /> &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>The safe and efficient scheduling of aircraft and crew in liaison with the VP Maintenance, the VP Cabin Services and the VP Schedule &amp; Network Planning, to ensure that aircraft utilization, punctuality and maintenance needs are met;&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensuring all operations staff are fully conversant with the airline’s Operations Manual and Emergency Procedures Manual;&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitoring and coordinating the activities of all other departments to achieve the airline’s punctuality and regularity targets, with due regard to the airline's operational, maintenance and security requirements; In conjunction with the Director of Flight Operations, manage safety and security in flight operations;&nbsp;</li> <li>In conjunction with the Director of Flight Operations, supervise and control all flights, operational control functions and other associated activities;&nbsp;</li> <li>In conjunction with the Director of Flight Operations, comply with standards of the airline’s and requirements of NCAA and other applicable authorities;&nbsp;</li> <li>The selection of all operational support systems in liaison with the Chief Pilot and the Operations Support Team;&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensuring that all necessary diplomatic and over-flight clearances are obtained to fly the commercial programmed;&nbsp;</li> <li>Reviewing Journey Logs for reports that affect the OCC operations function and taking action to rectify discrepancies as required;&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensuring that any disruption to the flying programmed is dealt with in a calm and professional manner with due regard to passenger welfare policy and cost effective solutions;&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitoring outstation performance to ensure adherence to Company procedures highlighting concerns to the relevant Airport Manager; &nbsp;</li> <li>Following up on air traffic routing problems and delay analysis, Journey/Technical Logs, issues and responses to crew. Analysis of Journey Logs comments, seeking responses from relevant departments and ensuring operational response to crew; &nbsp;</li> <li>Daily posting and monitoring of network performance. Leading daily on time performance meetings (OCC meetings) with service provider to review and correct any operational problems. Optimizing the schedule to prevent recurrent delays;&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaison with the engineering team and LH Tech to ensure that schedules are met and any unplanned events are dealt with to produce a speedy solution to any problem;&nbsp;</li> <li>Recruitment, training, rostering and discipline of OCC staff, as their Department Head;&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaising with the aircraft / equipment manufacturers, handling agencies and regulatory authorities including but not limited to the NCAA, NAMA, NIMET &amp; FAAN and other external authorities and entities relevant to operational control and that are involved with the provision of services to, or whose service may affect Company operations&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitoring and controlling crew roster within at least 30 days or one-month period; &nbsp;</li> <li>Monitoring Flight Time Limitations of crew and if violations occur to report the incidence to the Director of Flight Operations &nbsp;</li> <li>Managing the Crew Control Officers on a daily basis; &nbsp;</li> <li>Monitoring and generating the Crew Reliability Report for the Director of Flight Operations; &nbsp;</li> <li>Implementing new procedures for the Crew Control Officers; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Crew ratio/establishment planning in conjunction with the Crew Control Manager and the Business Management team to meet the requirements of the airline’s flying program&nbsp;and all associated training/lifestyle requirements of crew; &nbsp;</li> <li>Managing the fostering process with respect to the creation of operationally realistic aircrew duties and the pre-assignment of aircrew training and ground duties; &nbsp;</li> <li>The maintenance of the Crew Logic rostering system with respect to accurate data, rule settings, leaves and aircrew expiry dates; &nbsp;</li> <li>Ensuring internal service level agreements with Flight Operations Management/crew are met, and appropriate action taken to avoid adverse trends; &nbsp;</li> <li>The recruitment, training and discipline of Rostering personnel; &nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare long-term schedules;</li> <li>Planning the recurrent checks for flight crew before the expiry date; &nbsp;</li> <li>Approving and allocating leave requests&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<br /> <strong>As the successful AVP OCC, you will have at least:</strong><br /> &nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Bachelor Degree&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operations environment, at least 2 years within a Crewing or&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Rostering department on a Supervisory or Management position&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Flight Dispatcher or Pilots license&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Extensive knowledge of crewing software application (AIMS, Geneva, Rocade, APM or similar)&nbsp;PC literate&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills&nbsp;<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Good staff management and organizational skills with the ability to work on own initiative&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Package:</strong></p> <p>•&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;$100’000-$120’000 per annum<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Extra allowances: accommodation, transportation, health insurance, travel benefits</p> <p><br /> &nbsp;<br /> <strong>Working relationships:</strong><br /> &nbsp;<br /> Fleet Managers, Chief Pilot, DFO, Cabin Services Manager, Protocol Department, all Heads of&nbsp;<br /> Departments&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Start Date</strong>: As soon as possible</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>We are looking forward to hearing from you!</strong></p>
