A key aspect of Norwegian’s operations is the effective utilization of our fleet and crew, ensuring precise and detailed planning to the best for our customers and employees. We now seek to strengthen our Norwegian Cargo team with a Cargo Area Manager - US who will be reporting directly to Manager Cargo. The position is located in the New York area. <br /> <br /> <b>Role Responsibilities:</b> <br /> • Ensure reliable customer service delivery and on time performance by providing leadership, operational direction and resources where required <br /> • Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers to ensure effective cargo operations <br /> • Ensure the appropriate standards of safety and security are achieved with corporate requirements, government legislation and international best practice <br /> • Responsible to ensure that all cargo staff adhere to the company policies and procedures, upholding safety and security <br /> • Implement a review and risk assessment process on all SOPs and working practices to identify any unsafe practice areas for quality improvement <br /> • Handle critical issues through liaison with station managers, airport authorities/Port Authorities and internal departments to effectively deal with situations <br /> • Assume responsibility for accident investigation, reporting and statistical analysis <br /> <br /> <b>Role in More Detail:</b> <br /> • Continuous focus on cost reduction <br /> • Daily monitoring <br /> • Invoices <br /> • Audits <br /> • Trucking <br /> • ULD <br /> • Manuals <br /> <br /> <b>Follow up:</b> <br /> ? Supporting GSAs <br /> <br /> <b>Reporting</b> <br /> • Monthly reports to Cargo Manager <br /> <br /> <b>Strategy</b> <br /> • Ensure quality of product <br /> • Cost reduction <br /> • Increase revenue</p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p>• Minimum 6 years work experience in Air Cargo Operations / Ground Handling / Freight and of which last 2 years is on a Managerial level <br /> • Expertise in Cargo Handling Procedures and Regulations and familiar with fundamentals of Load Control and Ramp Handling <br /> • Experience in risks analysis procedures, airline quality management systems <br /> • Effective people management and planning/organizing skills, customer focused and analytical with good judgment, able to work under pressure and a team player <br /> • Fluent in written and spoken English <br /> • Thorough knowledge of MS Office and cargo management systems <br /> • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent <br /> • Relevant Aviation, Commercial and Management Training an advantage</p> <p><strong>We offer</strong></p> <p>Working for Norwegian you have the opportunity to form your career within a rapid-growing organisation that challenges the airline-industry every day.
