<p><strong>Senior Engineer - Success Profile<br /> Reporting to</strong> : Team Leader OES<br /> <strong>Division/Function </strong>: Operations<br /> <strong>Base location</strong> : Dubai<br /> <strong>Date </strong>: 1 June 2016<br /> <strong>Job Family</strong> : OES</p> <p><strong>Key purpose</strong><br /> The job holder is the designated Air Traffic Engineering Services (ATES) Networking and AMHS system specialist responsible for ensuring that the equipment in his field of expertise is maintained and managed in a safe and expeditious manner in line with the dans asset management plan, to ensure a seamless flow of air traffic and to ensure customer satisfaction.</p> <p>The job holder is to provide specialist knowledge to operational engineering and project staff as required.</p> <p><strong>Structure and reporting relationship</strong><br /> * The job holder maintains contact with a variety of entities inside the airport including ATC, Aviation Units, Relevant ANS departments and Dubai Airports stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.<br /> * A variety of work is also performed for the operations managers as well as internal and external project departments.<br /> * The jobholder signs off all work within his section as per well-established procedures. Errors made by the jobholder could result in down grading of systems operation which may have a significant impact on service provision.</p> <p><strong>Interacts internally with:</strong><br /> ATC<br /> ATES<br /> ATMS</p> <p><strong>Interacts externally with:</strong><br /> * Manufacturers<br /> * Emirates Airlines<br /> * Dnata<br /> * Based on the specific requirement of the role<br /> * Key accountabilities<br /> * ATES Equipment competency.</p> <p>Develops and reviews ATES equipment competency requirements to ensure OJTI and Oral assessment criteria for ATSEP are compliant with CARS and ICAO, and delivers staff competencies within ATES department by providing on the job training in accordance with the DANS ATSEP competency assessment plan.</p> <p>Must hold and maintain an on the job training instructors license (OJTI).</p> <p><strong>ATES equipment maintenance.</strong><br /> * Undertakes all depths of maintenance and trouble-shooting to maintain a high level of service and systems availability.<br /> * Provides spares oversight to assist in yearly budget development<br /> * Provides technical expertise and specifications for test equipment purchases.<br /> * ATES equipment project delivery<br /> * Carry out or assist with equipment factory acceptance tests (FAT) both overseas and within country, and equipment site acceptance tests (SAT)<br /> * Carry out or assist with critical design reviews (CDR) both overseas and within country, and carries out reviews of project documentation including operational requirements, technical specifications, tender evaluations, FAT and SAT scripts and CDR documentation.<br /> * Provides minor project management, future planning and system analysis<br /> * Performs work package management for projects.<br /> * ATES equipment documentation<br /> * Develops and approves equipment maintenance procedures and ensures they are compliant with GCAA and international regulations<br /> * Develops and approves equipment configuration sheets, ATES equipment technical manuals and ATES equipment drawings.</p> <p><strong>Customer liaison</strong><br /> * Works to ensure a seamless continuous operation with respect to work conducted through liaison with DWC and DXB Operations managers and OES manager during normal working hours, other ATSEP out of hours either by telephone support or on site response.</p> <p><strong>Technical oversight of ATES equipment</strong><br /> * Develops operational changedocumentations and performs risk assessments to support operational changes</p> <p><strong>Safety oversight</strong><br /> * Provide safety oversight and IOSH assessments of various tasks and sites to ensure operational safety of personnel and equipment is maintained.<br /> * To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required<br /> * Promote a good HSQE and Information Security culture among their peers.<br /> * DANS Integrated management and DANS quality management systems<br /> * Awareness and adherence to the DANS Integrated Management System and the content of the Environment, Quality, Health & Safety and Information Security Policy Statements;</p> <p>Understanding of personal responsibilities and contribution to achieving compliance with the Integrated Management System requirements,(including but not limited to competence to perform safety critical roles, legal requirements, control measures arisen from environmental impacts and aspects, job safety analysis and information security risk assessment) and the potential consequences of departure from the arrangements in place to deliver the commitments stated in the policies statements above</p> <p>Essential technical and professional skills , knowledge and qualifications</p> <p><strong>Qualifications and Education:</strong><br /> * The jobholder should have a Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent and be appropriately licensed for the maintenance of the equipment within their specialist area. The specialist areas are Networking and Avitech AMHS systems. There will be the requirement to train towards DATIS competency and eventually undertake the specialist role for this equipment.</p> <p><strong>Experience:</strong><br /> * The jobholder should hold a minimum of CCNP<br /> * The senior engineer must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience with networking systems.</p> <p><strong>Training:</strong><br /> * The jobholder ideally will have completed ATSEP training and a data processing group rating for the equipment specialties. The job holder should hold an On the Job Training Instructor (OJTI) or Competency Assessor (CA) qualification or be prepared to gain this qualification.</p> <p>Preference will be given to candidates with Avitech AMHS factory training.</p> <p><strong>Knowledge:</strong><br /> * The jobholder must be able to read, write and speak fluent English, and read and interpret technical drawings and schematic diagrams and also be IT literate. Knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programs is essential.</p> <p>The jobholder works in a variety of conditions from an air-conditioned office to open air environment subject to the work in hand. The external environment can be arduous with outside temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius. The physical effort expended by jobholder is light to moderate in normal operating conditions. Hours can be subject to operational requirements so the jobholder must be able to work outside of normal working hours.</p> <p>The jobholder must be able to perform out of hours duties in support of the Operational requirement.</p> <p><strong>Additional/specialfeatures of the role</strong><br /> * Ensure compliance with the Serco Management System and all relevant business processes, procedures and work instructions to deliver all work with appropriate quality and governance standards<br /> * Ensure security and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Serco non-disclosure policy<br /> * To exercise personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions; reference SMS GSOP-HSE1-6 Serco organisational HSE responsibilities<br /> * Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Serco and ensure adherence to these requirements at all times whilst in employment<br /> * Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process</p>
