Quality Engineer, Leighton Buzzard, Bedforshire

<p>As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available at our Leighton Buzzard Facility in the UK, including an <strong>Quality Engineer.</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will develop and implement quality activities for both engineering and manufacturing disciplines with the emphasis on; error prevention, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, legislation, regulation, international standards adherence and the reduction of variation and waste in all elements of the product lifecycle.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Supporting the Site Quality Manager to develop, implement and maintain the Business Management systems to meet certification requirements, the needs of customers, the business and its stakeholders<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality performance<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Management, implementation and control of customer, internal and supplier product and process audits with the focus on conformance and driving continuous improvement<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Liaising with customers, internal functions and suppliers to resolve customer issues, promoting customer confidence and satisfaction<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Developing, implementing and maintaining quality documentation and metrics including process maps, procedures, standards, process and product specifications<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Developing, managing, implementation and control of quality processes from material receipt,&nbsp; manufacturing through to dispatch of finished product to ensure product conformance and customer satisfaction&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Supporting the New Product Introduction process through quality planning and implementation, liaising with customers, internal functions and suppliers<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Supporting, developing and implementing supplier quality assurance and control processes<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Managing the implementation of short and long term strategic functional objectives and KPI’s.<br /> Ensuring all quality data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Striving towards the Goal of a World Class manufacturing environment.<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Any other reasonable duties</li> </ul> <p><br /> We are looking for someone educated to HNC in a quality, manufacturing or engineering discipline with the following experience -</p> <ul> <li>The suitable candidate will have a strong quality and / or aerospace background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>The candidate will be familiar with auditing procedures<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Strong working knowledge and understanding of Quality and / or Aerospace Standards (ISO 9000,</li> <li>AS9100, EASA Part 21, EASA Part 145)<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Problem Solving Skills with in an engineering environment - preferably 8D<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organisation structure<br /> &nbsp;</li> <li>IT literate – Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access</li> </ul>
