Send your CV in today to potentially secure a new exciting job opportunity with our client, who is offering a competitive salary!</p> <p> </p> <p>** You shall report directly to Head of Intelligence Safety Policy **</p> <p>** This role is based in South-East England **</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>As the Manager, Safety Intelligence your responsibilities include but not be limited to: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Being accountable for the production of actionable safety intelligence within SARG through ensuring the right data is collected, stored, appropriately coded and analysed, and disseminated in accordance with the businesses Information Strategy, Performance-Based Regulation and Better Regulation principles, and as a core function of the companies RSMS.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Managing the work of the Safety Intelligence team, which includes highly qualified seasoned industry professionals, to ensure that their outputs are timely, appropriate and of consistently high quality so that key Strategic and Business Plan objectives relating to the creation of actionable safety intelligence, safety risk models, sector risk pictures and safety performance measures are delivered.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Managing the production of actionable safety intelligence to ensure that senior management (including the Board, ExCo, Safety Review Committee and Safety Leadership Group) are appropriately informed of the key safety risks affecting the UK consumer/public, and that their decision making in matters of safety improvement and resource deployment is fully informed by the relevant evidence.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Generating a forward vision for safety data and information in the business including future data sources, technology system options, required forward staffing and use of skills and plan how to implement the vision.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Providing leadership in data sharing and standardisation amongst industry and internationally through industry and international groups, international influence and lobbying for appropriate international standards and decisions.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensuring that the Safety Data team in the Shared Service Centre collect, store and code safety data to an appropriate level of quality to allow high quality analysis to be conducted by the Safety Intelligence team, and oversee the management of this relationship via a post in the team and a service level agreement.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensuring the provision of a fit-for-purpose analysis support function for the International Directorate.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Representing the business on relevant European and ICAO safety groups (e.g. the European Network of Analysts) to ensure that safety issues and safety risk assessment/analysis methodologies identified by the company are used to influence associated policy and safety improvement activity on a European and global level.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Developing and maintaining effective professional working relationships with industry safety managers so as to maintain and enhance the reputation for producing high quality safety analyses and developing innovative safety risk assessment and safety analysis methodologies for the benefit of industry adoption as part of their SMS.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Deputise for the Head of ISP.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Apply today to receive a copy of the full job description.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>To be considered for the role of Manager, Safety Intelligence you must; </strong></p> <ul> <li>A degree in a numerate discipline, and preferably a post-graduate qualification, together with an expert grasp of risk assessment methodologies, safety performance monitoring techniques and statistical methods.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Significant experience working in the fields of safety management, safety analysis and/or safety investigation, preferably in the aviation industry or with an aviation regulator. However, alternative industries where the skills are transferable would be considered.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Analytical ability of the highest order, together with strong drafting and presentational skills.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Proven track record in leading and directing a sizeable team of analytical experts, including a mix of seasoned professionals joining from industry and recent graduates.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ability to think creatively to develop innovative (often ground breaking) risk assessment and safety analysis methodologies to identify and assess safety issues generated by a dynamic and developing industry.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Expert level knowledge of flight data monitoring and its application as a proactive safety tool as part of an effective safety management system would be desirable.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate complex messages to senior management in a clear and concise manner, and also to persuade and influence, particularly when the messages are challenging.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Oaklands Global Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>For more information on this excellent opportunity, please get in touch with your most recent CV copy today! </strong></p> <p> </p>
