<p><strong>Head of Compliance<br /> National Police Air Service (NPAS)<br /> Wakefield<br /> Salary: £54,063 - £57,708<br /> Ref: XPC094</strong></p> <p>The National Police Air Service delivers aviation support to police forces across England and Wales. Operating from a number of bases across the country, NPAS is operated by West Yorkshire Police from its headquarters in Wakefield.</p> <p>As one of the largest police aviation providers in the world we take a pride in ensuring that we achieve the highest standards of safety and Compliance. We are seeking to recruit a Head of Compliance based at our Headquarters in Wakefield to continue to challenge and support our development and embed a safety culture that is second to none.</p> <p>In this new and exciting role, you will lead the Compliance Team, playing a central role in developing the NPAS Audit Programme and driving improvements in our Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).</p> <p>We believe that this is a unique opportunity; suiting a candidate who holds an Aviation Quality Audit Qualification or accreditation acceptable to CAA. You must be able to show a successful track record in aviation quality and compliance management, including relevant exposure to the aircraft maintenance environment and regulatory environments. You will also be able to use a range of relevant software solutions.</p> <p>You will come with substantial experience of staff management within a “matrix” environment (team members who are both direct employees and employed by other organisation) ensuring service delivery to rigid standards, along with substantial knowledge and understanding of performance management.</p> <p>We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to prepare and present specialist reports and training to a range of NPAS Stakeholders, together with experience of managing and meeting obligations under Health and Safety legislation and estates management.</p> <p>In addition, you will hold a current, full UK/European driving licence, and will be provided vehicle for business purposes and travel throughout England and Wales to meet business commitments. You will also be expected to provide an on-call service outside normal office hours.</p> <p>This post is suitable for job share.
