<p>GAL Air Navigation Services (GAL ANS) LLC is currently seeking an ANS Safety Specialist to join our expanding team at Abu Dhabi Airport.&nbsp; The ANS Safety Specialist will be responsible will have a strong background in ANS SMS, and will support the Safety Manager with trend analysis, safety forecasting/monitoring, safety promotion, risk assessments and ANS Safety Investigations as required.</p> <p><strong>GAL Air Navigation Services</strong></p> <p>We provide specialized Air Traffic Services, Air Navigation Services, Air Navigation Training and aerospace support services with a commitment to excellence, quality, safety and value. &nbsp;GAL ANS continued its growth in 2015, handling over 485,000 air traffic movements in the UAE FIR across its contracts.</p> <p>Over 23 million passengers passed through Abu Dhabi International Airport in 2015, an increase of over 17%.&nbsp; The airport is the second largest in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one of the fastest growing airport hubs globally, serving over 93 destinations in 56 countries. You will be a part of a multi-cultural professional team providing Air Navigation Services within the UAE.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in the development of safety policies and procedures for ATC within the framework of applicable international and local standards and procedures.</li> <li>Monitor, measure and report to the Safety Manager on safety issues in agreed upon formats and within agreed timescales.</li> <li>Complete TEMs (Threat &amp; Error Management analysis) on relevant incidents and occurrences.</li> <li>Liaise with Safety Manager and relevant GAL ANS ADA departments to ensure remedial training and corrective/preventative actions are carried out.</li> <li>Assist in delivering safety related training and raising the awareness of safety issues.</li> <li>Provide technical expertise and play an advisory role in the event of rapidly occurring situations.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of safety cases as required.</li> <li>Assist in providing oversight assistance to ATC Operations that may be required in the post incident phase of any aviation related incident.</li> <li>Provide support in ensuring all GAL ANS ADA staff connected with an incident have access to the results/feedback of an investigation.</li> <li>Conduct investigations/safety analyses of ATS related incidents/occurrences and ensure any major safety non-conformity is highlighted immediately and remedial action/s is taken.</li> <li>Review and provide guidance on operational ATC safety documentation when required.</li> <li>Prepare safety reports and trend analysis reports as required.</li> <li>Assist in initiatives that actively promote safety and GAL ANS SMS.</li> <li>Assist in the delivery of relevant contractual KPIs.</li> <li>Monitor current events relative to aviation in order to stay abreast of industry developments, global safety trends/concerns and best practices.</li> <li>Assist in providing SMS support to all GAL ANS ADA contractually assigned satellite airport units.</li> <li>Participate in GAL ANS ADA and customer based safety programmes and initiatives and assist in other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree/diploma/certification from an accredited university/course programme in a relevant field of study is preferable.</li> <li>Completion of Incident Investigation, SMS and Auditing courses (preferable).</li> <li>Completion of Classroom Instructional Techniques (CIT) course or equivalent (preferable).</li> <li>Sound knowledge of UAE civil aviation rules, regulations, standards and documentation.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of international civil aviation (ICAO) rules, regulations, standards and documentation is required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience working within ANS Safety Department.</li> <li>Previous experience with ATS investigation processes.</li> <li>Hold or have held a validation in Aerodrome and/or Approach Control for at least 5 years ideally at a major international airport.</li> <li>Previous experience in the Gulf region preferable.</li> </ul> <p>Computer literacy in Office application programmes (essentially MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project applications and Adobe) along with knowledge of computing techniques demonstrating the structure of file management is required.</p>
