Health, Safety and Environment Advisor – 3 month contract

<p>Zenon are currently working with a UK based Maintenance Repair Organisation, assisting in their search for a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to actively promote Health Safety and Environmental culture within all companies within its group, on matters affecting the safety of employees and others, and also to assist in managing the environmental impact of our activities.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Salary</li> <li>Various – Travel to our other sites will be required</li> </ul> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Assisting managers with Risk Assessments and developing Safe Systems of work with managers to ensure appropriate risk mitigation is implemented</li> <li>Identifying hazards within the workplace and assisting the Safety team to ensure that the Company is compliant with relevant Health Safety and Environmental legislation</li> <li>Maintaining environmental management information including the aspects and impacts register and waste management records</li> <li>Carrying out inspections and audits of the company’s UK premises and activities.</li> <li>Supporting the Health and Safety Representatives and maintaining competency</li> <li>Working with managers on the practical application of Group Health Safety and Environmental policy</li> <li>Promoting safety culture, wellbeing and influence positive change;</li> <li>Assisting the Health Safety and Environmental Manager with the organisation and delivery of training</li> <li>Monitoring and investigating accident and incidents, work related ill health claims and environmental incidents as required</li> <li>Producing management reports, bulletins and other communications</li> <li>Assisting the Health and Safety Manager with ordering and allocating the type and use of Personal Protective Equipment, Work Equipment, etc</li> <li>Using IT management tools to collate and promote policies, procedures and communication as well as updating and maintaining records</li> <li>Supporting the Health Safety &amp; Environment Team, and contributing to the business plans, policies procedures and other management objectives</li> </ul> <p>Candidates will need to hold the following:</p> <ul> <li>Will have excellent proven organisation and IT skills, through experience</li> <li>Be a strong and positive communicator across all levels, when working with senior managers, employees and contractors</li> <li>Will maintain professional knowledge of all Health and Safety and relevant Environmental legislation</li> <li>Will be self-motivated with excellent time-management skills</li> <li>Have the ability to travel UK wide</li> </ul> <p>The following would be a distinct advantage:</p> <ul> <li>To hold or be working towards NEBOSH Diploma</li> <li>To hold or be working towards Environmental Qualification (e.g. IEMA)</li> <li>To maintain a membership of IOSH</li> <li>Experience in an engineering or aviation background</li> </ul> <p>Why Choose Zenon Aviation?</p> <p>In the ever changing and dynamic market place, Zenon Aviation knows that the support and care we provide to candidates is vital in assisting you in achieving your career aspirations.
