Hiring organisation

Entry Point North

Entry Point North is an international Air Traffic Management (ATM) Academy, approved by all the Civil Aviation Authorities in Scandinavia. The Academy was established in 2005 as an independent academy. In 2007 more than 500 students and professionals were trained at the academy’s advanced training facilities at Malmö Airport, Sweden. Entry Point North offers ATM training solutions to its customers and the training is at all times carried out in accordance with Best Practice and all international rules and standards including ICAO SARPS and EUROCONTROL ESARR 5. Entry Point North is a total training solution provider that helps the customer with the selection and recruitment of future air traffic controllers and ensuring that students, are fully trained to meet the requirements of the appropriate rating whether this is ADI, APS, APP or ACS or a combination of these - depending on the specific requirements of the customer. Entry Point North offers a wide range of ATM development training to the aviation industry i.e. OJTI, OJTI Refresher and Assessor courses. Due to complex human-machine interfaces in Air Traffic Management, as well as in other safety-critical organisations, and the understanding of errors causing accidents and incidents there is a clear demand for continuous Human Factors training. Thus all Human Factors training offered at Entry Point North, such as Crew and Team Resource Management training (CRM/TRM), is based on an operational context aiming towards the development of the participant’s non-technical skills i.e. interpersonal communication, decision making processes, social and organizational factors and leadership. Additionally, Entry Point North offers Controller Aviation Training (CAT), a course for both fully-qualified and aspiring Air Traffic Controllers. It gives the course participants a deeper insight into all the challenges associated with airline operations from basic flying skills and flight preparations to air crew management. Historically, training has been performed by ATCOs or trainers with ATM experience. ATCOs are a scarce resource, which is why Entry Point North has looked at alternative ways to reduce the use of ATCOs. Through cooperation with universities and drawing on instructors with experience from the aviation industry and other industries, it has been possible to reduce the use of operational ATCOs while ensuring that high quality and safety standards are sustained. At Entry Point North, we have a wide range of simulators essential for performing proper training.
