<p><strong>Sumburgh Airport</strong></p> <p><strong>Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (SATCO)</strong></p> <p><strong>Salary: up to £64.5K (including allowances) + weekend premiums 27.4% employer’s pension contribution, a generous relocation package and annual leave entitlement.</strong></p> <p>We are seeking to recruit a Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (SATCO) for Sumburgh Airport.</p> <p>Your primary role will be to ensure that the Sumburgh Air Traffic Services Unit provides safe, efficient, regulatory compliant and cost effective air traffic services. You will manage the ATS unit on a day-today basis ensuring that all ATS related training, maintenance of competency, safety management and project management activities are conducted to the highest standard and in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policy.</p> <p>You must hold a valid UK ATCO Licence with a minimum of an ADI rating issued in accordance with EU 2015/340 and a valid ATCO Class 3 Medical Certificate and an English Language Proficiency Certificate at Level 5 or above. You should have at least four years operational experience as a validated ATCO.</p> <p>Ideally, you should hold an OJTI endorsement, an Assessors endorsement, a Met Observer Certificate and a valid Driving License. Previous experience of unit management and project management will be a distinct advantage. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of all relevant EASA and UK regulatory requirements including Safety Management Systems (SMS) and associated procedures. You will be required to demonstrate that you have excellent leadership potential, strong interpersonal skills and that you possess superior communications skills. You should be a strong team player and people manager who fosters a just and inclusive culture and you should be able to make sound decisions under pressure and contribute towards effective interdepartmental team working within the airport.</p> <p>You will be required to validate your Aerodrome Control (ADI) rating at Sumburgh Airport under an accelerated unit-training plan. Following validation, you will be required to undertake operational ATCO duties as part of the ATCO shift roster.</p> <p>You will accept that you will be required to relocate to the new Centralised Surveillance Centre, which will be located at Inverness at some stage in the future.
