Find your future with us.</p> <p><b><u>Position Summary:</u></b></p> <p>The Boeing Defense, Space and Security Alignment/Mechanical Verification group is seeking an entry level Alignment Engineer for our El Segundo, California location. Our group supports space based product lines as satellites, rockets and crew missions.</p> <p><b><u>Position Responsibilities:</u></b></p> <ul> <li>Assist Alignment Engineers in ensuring that position and/or orientation of critical spacecraft components or tooling meets requirements and performance</li> <li>End-to-end Alignment Engineering input and support for all Boeing sites</li> <li>Assist in the development, execution and analysis of antenna, payload, bus and spacecraft alignment plans during assembly, integration and test.</li> <li>Lead the collection of data using high precision metrology equipment</li> <li>Perform alignments or hardware with various mechanical positioning systems</li> <li>Perform analysis of data from flight and non-flight articles</li> <li>Support the development of the alignment/mechanical pointing budgets for all antenna, sub-systems and spacecraft engineering</li> <li>Support development and implementation of antenna, sub-system and spacecraft alignment processes</li> <li>Work between multiple coordinate frames/systems with good spatial/geometric awareness</li> <li>Work in a manufacturing/lab environment (knowledge or hands-on experience with mechanical assembly is helpful)</li> <li>Support manufacturing operations needs and schedule demands</li> </ul> <p>This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.</p> <p><i>Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.</i></p> <p><u><b>Required Experience/Qualifications and Education:</b></u></p> <p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 4 years' related).</p> <p><u><b>Basic Qualifications Required:</b></u></p> <ul> <li><b>This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (Post Start)</b></li> <li>Must have Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, chemistry or physics.</li> <li>1+ years' experience/working knowledge of MS Office suite</li> <li>Must be available for domestic travel</li> <li>Must have the ability to work various hours (including 2nd or 3rd shift) based on program schedule.</li> </ul> <p><u><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></u></p> <p>1. Active security clearance</p> <p>2. Knowledge/experience with basic mechanical/manufacturing assembly processes is desirable</p> <p>3. Interest in mathematics</p> <p>4.
