Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.&nbsp; Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Trains and mentors others. Works under consultative direction.The Boeing Space and Launch group is seeking an&nbsp;Experienced Software Engineer to work in our Seal Beach, CA location.</p> <p><br /> <b>Primary responsibilities:</b><br /> <br /> Will address all phases of the flight software development life cycle including:</p> <ul> <li>Work with systems engineers, flight software peers, and flight software architect to understand requirements allocated to a specific module and develop a design approach for the module</li> <li>Provide requirements feedback and functions spec feedback to systems engineers</li> <li>Design, development, unit test, and integration of embedded software for space-based applications</li> <li>Support Formal Qualification Testing, including STD generation and test script development and execution</li> <li>Will&nbsp;perform several parallel tasks as part of a dynamic team of systems and software engineers</li> </ul> <p>This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).</b><br /> <br /> <b>Typical Education &amp; Experience:</b></p> <p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.</p> <p><b>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):</b></p> <ul> <li>10+ years’ experience developing embedded flight software using C</li> <li><b>This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) prior to starting. &nbsp;U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).</b></li> </ul> <p><b>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):</b></p> <ul> <li>Experience leading teams in the development and/or test of embedded software</li> <li>Experience with scripting tools such as TCL/Tk</li> <li>Experience with software debugging tools such as gdb</li> <li>Experience with developing software in a RTOS environment using VxWorks and familiar with WindRiver’s IDE Workbench</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment</li> </ul> <p><b>Experience Level</b><br /> Individual Contributor<br /> <b>Contingent Upon Program Award</b><br /> No, this position is not contingent upon program award<br /> <br /> <b>Schedule</b><br /> Full time<br /> <br /> Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
