Find your future with us.</p><p></p><p>The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is currently seeking a <b>Mid-Level System Administrator </b>to join the Mission Systems Operations group located in Herndon, Virginia. This role will involve providing complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and technical support of a mission critical system in a dynamic real-time operations environment. This position will be 100% at a customer site.</p><p></p><p>As a member of the Mission Systems Operations Team, you will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Participate in the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Plans and coordinates system changes. Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements. Oversees activities to monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. Mentors, leads and trains others.</p><p></p><p>Rotating shiftwork is required of this position in direct support of the customers operations tempo; shift differential is paid based on shift schedule coverage. Candidates must be able to adapt in an exciting, dynamic operational environment while maintaining relationships with system stakeholders and customers.</p><p></p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture</li><li>Install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components</li><li>Plan, develop, design, integrate and maintain all computer applications, including specialized applications specific to the programs objectives</li><li>Plan and coordinate highly complex software and hardware for enterprise release</li><li>Ensure systems conform to architectural objectives</li><li>Evaluate complex system's production readiness and supportability</li><li>Perform the restoration of complex computing service operations</li><li>Perform complex system problem identification and resolution</li><li>Integrate security solutions into information systems</li><li>Monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning</li><li>Perform Windows and Linux administration</li></ul><p></p><p><b>This position requires an active Top Secret / SCIU.S. Security Clearance. </b>(A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)</p><p></p><p><b>Variable Shift:</b></p><p>Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.</p><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>Completion of Full Scope Polygraph (Post-Start)</li><li>Experienceindependently troubleshooting and resolving IT issues in an operational environment</li><li>Experience in (either Windows or Linux) system administration</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Experience in both Windows and Linux system administration</li><li>Experience providing written and verbal communications for work status and shift tie-in</li><li>Experience in network operations</li><li>Experience performing root cause analysis to solve complex technical issues</li><li>Technical Bachelor's degree or higher</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Typical Education/Experience:</b></p><p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master + 3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).</p><p></p><p><b>Relocation:</b></p><p>Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
