About this role
<p>The T-38systems integration teamis seeking a future technical leader to join the team as an understudy to learn from and eventually replace current T-38 engineering leadership. The program has unique technical challenges (non-Boeing OEM products) and a wide variety of technical scope. The near term need is for a system integration engineer to support development of product improvements and to provide sustaining support for the T-38C avionics suite.</p><p>The T-38,is a high altitude supersonic jet aircraft used by the USAF, NATO, USN, and NASA in various roles. The Boeing Company successfully competed and captured fleet sustainment and upgrades for the T-38 avionics suite from our competitor. The Boeing T-38 Program is currently executing services from all of the Boeing Global Services capabilities (EM&M, T&PS, Supply Chain, and DA&A). More specifically, the program is performing avionics integration and modernization, engineering and software support services, courseware development and simulator support, field service and COMBS support, and PBL flying hour services. The T-38C aircraft in training roles are expected to be replaced by the T-X over the next 20 years, however the T-38C aircraft are expected to remain operational in other roles for the foreseeable future.</p><p><p>At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire. Find your future with us.</p><p><p><b>Responsibilities include</b>:</p><ul><li>Customer Coordination</li><li>Requirement development</li><li>Coordination with other disciplines; Software, Mechanical, R&M, Safety, Structures, EMC, etc</li><li>Product Integration, Test and Troubleshooting</li><li>Acceptance Testing</li><li>Flight Testing</li><li>Field Service Support</li><li>Sustaining Engineering</li><li>Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.</li></ul><p><p><b><b>Basic Required Qualifications:</b></b></p><ul><li>The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.</li><li>Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.</li><li>Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.</li><li>1+ years of experience in the design and/or analysis of electrical systems.</li><li>1+ years of experience as an engineer on a multi-disciplined team with frequent interaction with suppliers and customers.</li></ul><p><p><b><b>Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:</b></b></p><ul><li>BS EE Degree is preferred.</li><li>Prior experience of working on a variety of avionic subsystems; controls and displays, navigation, communication, weapon simulation, sensors, video and data recording, ground station applications.</li></ul><p><p><b>Typical Education and Experience:</b></p><p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard</p><p><p><b><b>Relocation: </b></b><br />This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
