Subject to fully meeting our requirements, we will facilitate your relocation.</p> <p><strong>Your role</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and leading a team of 10 professionals, you will supervise and control all flights, lead the operational control functions and manage the safe and efficient scheduling of aircraft and crew to ensure that all aircraft utilization, punctuality and maintenance needs are met.</p> <p><strong>Your tasks</strong></p> <ul> <li>Leading the safe and efficient scheduling of aircraft and crew in liaison with the Head of Maintenance, the Head of Cabin Services and the Head of Schedule &amp; Network Planning, to ensure that aircraft utilization, punctuality and maintenance needs are met.</li> <li>Ensuring all operations staff are fully conversant with the Operations Manual and Emergency Procedures Manual.</li> <li>Monitoring and coordinating the activities of all other departments to achieve overall punctuality and regulatory targets, with due regard to our operational, maintenance and security requirements.</li> <li>In conjunction with the COO, managing safety and security in-flight operations, supervise and control all flights, operational control functions, comply with standards and requirements of the company, the Civil Aviation and other authorities.</li> <li>Ensuring that all necessary diplomatic and over-flight clearances are obtained to operate the scheduled commercial flights.</li> <li>Reviewing Journey Logs for reports that affect the OCC operations function and taking action to rectify discrepancies as required.</li> <li>Ensuring that any disruption to scheduled flights is dealt with in a calm and professional manner with due regard to passenger welfare policy and provide cost effective solutions.</li> <li>Monitoring outstation performance to ensure adherence to company procedures highlighting concerns to the relevant Airport Manager.</li> <li>Following up on air traffic routing problems and delay analysis, Journey/Technical Logs, issues and responses to crew. Analysis of Journey Logs comments, seeking responses from relevant departments and ensuring operational response to crew.</li> <li>Daily posting and monitoring of network performance. Leading daily on time performance meetings (OCC meetings) with service provider to review and correct any operational problems. Optimizing the schedule to prevent recurrent delays.</li> <li>Liaising with the engineering team and Technical Service Providers to ensure that schedules are met and any unplanned events are dealt with to provide timely solutions to any problems.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Liaising with the aircraft / equipment manufacturers, handling agencies and regulatory authorities and other external authorities and entities relevant to operational control and that are involved with the provision of services to, or whose service may affect company operations.</li> <li>You are expected to interact with: <ol> <li>Head of Flight Operations</li> <li>Head of Training</li> <li>Head of Cabin Crew</li> <li>Dispatchers</li> <li>Duty Managers</li> <li>Country Managers</li> <li>Fuelling Officers</li> <li>Maintenance Manager</li> <li>Manager of the Handling Agent</li> <li>Airline regulatory bodies</li> </ol> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Your profile</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ideally, you have obtained a Bachelor’s degree, a Flight Dispatcher Licence and other certificates in airport related functions.</li> <li>You have an extensive (5 to 10 years) and proven experience in a similar role and exposure.</li> <li>You have proven leadership and personnel management skills combined with the ability to lead and conduct negotiations at the highest levels.</li> <li>You must possess strong communication skills both in French and English (business fluency), other African languages is a plus.</li> <li>You are a strong team-leader with vision and the ability to make executive decisions with diligence and a strong attention to detail.</li> <li>You are self-motivated and focused on results with a proven ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, delegate effectively and meet deadlines.</li> <li>You display the highest level of integrity and are equipped with the initiative and curiosity to solve problems, a people and team-oriented individual and self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Please submit your application with Cover Letter, CV and certificates in one single pdf file.
