<p>Boeing Defense, Space, and Security is seeking an<b>Expert Spacecraft GN&C System Engineer (Level 6)</b> to lead teams to developthe Guidance, Navigation, &Control Subsystem (GNC) flight systems on complex satellite systems. This position will focus on developing requirements definition and flow down, systems design and analysis, systems integration, test and design validation, verification, and writing satellite operating procedure and support satellite operations. This position is first shift and located in El Segundo, CA.</p><p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Lead and define Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C), mission or trajectory requirements, ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level, resolve requirements issues across program elements.</li><li>Lead mission planning and analyses to define spacecraft trajectories and performance requirements.</li><li>Develop and integrate navigation & guidance algorithms to support mission and trajectory needs.</li><li>Create models, simulations and tools to support GN&C system development and analysis.</li><li>Design, analyze and guide others in the development of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems, simulations, models, tools and analysis techniques.</li><li>Perform a wide variety of complex trade studies to identify and recommend solutions to problems and issues.</li><li>Lead the definition of requirements compliance processes and certification criteria and methods.</li><li>Lead others in design reviews, analyses, simulations and component / system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.</li><li>Assure timely, cost effective solutions for program and engineering issues, present recommendations and implementation status to leadership and customers.</li><li>Lead, organize and resolve cross-divisional problems.</li><li>Lead new business development efforts and the definition of technology roadmaps.</li><li>Coach other engineers and leaders.</li></ul><p><p><b><b>This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a SSBI (Single Scope Background Investigation), for which the U.S Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.</b></b></p><p><p><b>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.</li><li>Minimum of15 years of experience with spacecraft, missile, aircraft, autonomous platform or similar vehicle Guidance, Navigation or Control systems.</li><li>Minimum of10 years of experience within the aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry.</li><li>Experience leading small engineering teams.</li></ul><p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):</b></p><ul><li>Experience with Space Systems Engineering.</li><li>Strong communication (both written and verbal).</li><li>5years or more experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems.</li><li>5years or more experience in computer programming using C, C++, C#, Ada or other engineering programming languages.</li><li>Experience with simulation and / or system/component modeling.</li><li>Experience or coursework with Kalman Filter design or other estimation techniques.</li><li>Experience with implementing algorithms in real time systems.</li><li>Experience with autocoding of software.</li></ul><p><p><b>Typical Education & Experience:</b></p><p>Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor'swith 20or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
