We are looking for <b><b>Training Systems Support Specialist</b></b> to be based at RAF <b><b>Waddington</b></b>, UK.</p><p><p><b><b>Position Overview:</b></b></p><p>Boeing Defence UK is developing state of the art training equipment to support the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) Defence Operational Training Capability (DOTC). We are looking for an experienced Training Systems Support Specialist to support the day to day operations and maintenance of the DOTC Core Systems and Services. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience in the supporting synthetic training equipment, servers and networks.</p><p><p>You will be integrated into a faced-paced and dynamic customer focused environment and stretched to achieve your potential. Your wellbeing is also important to us and we strive to find a healthy life balance and with an ethical team culture and strong emphasis on openness, collaboration, innovation, safety and first time quality.</p><p><p>Please note that the job holder will be working on a military airbase and will be subject to security procedures in accordance with the UK Governments policies for civilians working in MOD facilities.</p><p><p><p><b><b>Position Responsibilities: </b></b></p><ul><li>Performing general pre-operations, post-operations and configuration of training systems</li><li>Supporting other stakeholders, primarily the White Force, in ensuring that systems are operating correctly</li><li>Performing system administration and supporting general maintenance tasks</li><li>Troubleshooting server and network problems</li><li>Monitoring and maintaining system security</li><li>Managing administration of users system access controls</li><li>Monitoring system performance to supports capacity planning</li><li>Performing backups and system recovery </li><li>Performing regular system updates and patching</li><li>Maintaining system documentation and records as required</li><li>Troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, reconfiguration, and modification of the Training Devices, and all other electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems </li><li>Accomplishing system initialization and checkout, system operation for extended periods, rapid fault diagnosis and correction, data logging, and system shutdown</li></ul><p><p><p><b><b>PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a UK SECURITY CHECK.</b></b></p><p><b><b>Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status</b></b>.</p><p><p><p><b>Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>Good working knowledge of MS Windows Server, Linux (RedHat), VMware</li><li>Experience with VT MAK products (VR-Forces, VR-Engage, VR-Vantage etc.) and/or with CISCO network administration</li><li>Preferably educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject</li><li>Experience with HPE Hyper-converged Server products and tools</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Good analytical skills</li><li>Customer focused approach</li><li>Ability to work on multiple tasks when under pressure</li><li>Ability to resolve competing demands on time to deliver results without compromising technical or programme integrity</li><li>Willing to work in a military environment requiring adherence to security procedures</li></ul><p><p><p><b><b>Relocation:</b></b></p><p>This position does not offer relocation.
