<p>Digital Receiver Technology, Inc. (DRT), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company located in Germantown, MD, is looking for an <b>Experienced Technical Writer</b>. DRT is a premier provider of SIGINT and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. This position requires the ability to product documentation such as datasheets, manuals and help files.This position will be located onsite in <b>Germantown, MD</b> on first shift.</p><p><p><b>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>Create original user documentation and data sheets for telecommunications equipment in hard and soft copy.</li><li>Use Help-generation program such as RoboHelpto create online Help files for inclusion in DRT software products.</li><li>Assist with printing and binding of DRT manuals and DRT equipment data sheets as needed.</li><li>Use Adobe Suite of graphics programs (Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Visio to create graphic illustrations.</li><li>Use digital camera to take of photos of DRT equipment.</li><li>Use RoboHelp, MS Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat to create documents.</li><li>Operate printers when needed.</li></ul><p><p><b>This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22. C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.</b></p><p><br /><b>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree or higher in Information Science or English</li><li>5+ years of experience in Technical Writing</li><li>5+ years of experience with Power Point, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop</li></ul><p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):</b></p><ul><li>Familiarity with HTML or XML.</li><li>Familiarity with SW repository systems, such as, SVN</li><li>Telecommunications or military experience helpful</li><li>Oral communications capability (to elicit information from engineers)</li><li>Experience with single-source documentation programs, such as RoboHelp</li><li>Knowledge of image and document compression issues</li></ul><p><p><b>Typical Education/ Experience:</b></p><p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).</p><p><p><b>Relocation:</b></p><p>Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
