About this role

<p>Boeing is seeking a <b><b>Mid-Level Structures Test & Evaluation Engineer Data Processing</b></b> to work in the Structures and Mechanical Test (STR) capability as part of the Structures Test & Evaluation Engineering team located in <b><b>St. Louis, Missouri</b></b>. The STR capability supports structural, mechanical and material properties test programs for all Boeing Divisions, including Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA), Boeing Defense Systems (BDS), and Boeing Space Programs. The STR team is part of a larger lab complex at the St. Louis site. There are often opportunities to work across teams and labs to support all of the Boeing product lines and their test needs.</p><p></p><p>This position would have an emphasis on the data acquisition, processing and software support to the teams test programs. You will be providing the business partner (customer) with accurate structural test data on schedule and in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on the latest military aircraft and weapons programs, such as T-7A and MQ-25A, and support our legacy programs like F-15 and F-18 into the future. The St. Louis STR team supports tests ranging from material testing to airframe component testing to full-scale static and fatigue testing.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Position Responsibilities:</b></b></p><ul><li>Configure, integrate and maintain computing hardware, software and systems to fulfill all test requirements</li><li>Configure and operate data acquisition systems and software</li><li>Design, create and verify testing application I/O requirements</li><li>Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data</li><li>Analyze, review and validate test data to ensure test instrumentation hardware and software readiness and test result integrity</li><li>Present test results internally and to customers</li><li>Exhibit a high degree of computational aptitude, including competency in application software usage and development</li><li>Utilize communication skills and work with various cross-functional teams in situations that require significant judgment and decision making</li><li>Exhibit competency in training others</li><li>Provide support to a test program under general direction</li><li>Participate in the preparation, setup and conducting of tests</li><li>Coordinate with business partners, team members, shop personnel, and other support personnel</li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. </b></b>An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):</b></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry</li><li>3+ years of experience with lab or flight test data processing and verification</li><li>3+ years of experience with engineering application software development</li><li>Experience with SQL and Oracle database maintenance</li><li>Experience with Visual Studio IDE</li><li>Experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace</li><li>An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)</li><li>3+ years of experience with aircraft-related structural tests, flight tests, or ground tests</li><li>Experience with instrumentation and/or data acquisition systems</li><li>Experience with MTS AeroPro control and data acquisition software</li><li>Experience with MATLAB and LabVIEW</li><li>Software development skill sets including: C, C++, C# .NET, Object Oriented Programming, FORTRAN, Python, HTML, Dreamweaver, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Jquery, Entity Framework, DevExpress</li><li>Experience in source control management using Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure</li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Typical Education/Experience: </b></b></p><p>Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
