<p>This a very rare and interesting position, for those with a knowledge and passion for helicopter aerodynamics and thermodynamics, based at the heart of Europe's most innovative and largest OEMs. There is only 1 vacancy. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Job description and tasks</strong></p> <p>The position offered will be in the Aeromechanics & Performance Department of the Airbus Design Office Helicopters. You will be integrated into a transnational team of around 60 engineers who are responsible for scientific analysis and design in the field of flight physics. It deals particularly with activities in aerodynamics, aerothermics, flight mechanics, performance and flight loops. One of the department's responsibilities is to provide aerodynamic/thermal/icing analysis to perform and proper systems integration throughout the helicopter to ensure: external and internal temperature maps, engine integration (air intake and nozzle size, engine compartment cooling, icing), gearbox and engine oil cooling dimensioning, Avionics Equipment Integration. We are working on activities for all programs, including military programs, from pre-development to certification, Research programs to develop advanced methods and the helicopters during the support lifespan. The position will focus on aerothermal and aerodynamics activities. In In these areas you are responsible for all scientific and operational activities, including preparing test requests, conducting analysis, execution of simulations based on internal or commercial tools, the creation of technical Documents. They also contribute to the aircraft optimization process by improving the aerodynamics and/or the provide overall aircraft aerothermal performance, sensitivity studies and recommendations. In addition, you will contribute to the optimization of the global design of Airbus products during the development phase and the expansion of leading competencies in the areas of aerodynamics and Aerothermal-dynamics the necessary methods and tools. The job holder works as contractor (m/f/d) in the field of aerodynamics & aerothermal and takes on the following tasks: Aerodynamic and/or aerothermal analysis of the various areas of the helicopter and its main systems Creation and/or supervision of the development of advanced numerical models Consideration of the main phenomena features definition of the minimum required tests for risk mitigation and evaluation of the system, Preparation in cooperation with test teams and other responsible systems and Analysis/extrapolation of the processed measurements Contributors to Services Contribute to the development of methods and tools to support the development of helicopters in a shorter lead time Development of multi-skills with a special focus on aerodynamics and aerothermal-dynamics.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Personal requirements</strong></p> <p>Independent and willing to take on leadership roles Communication skills that enable cross-border teamwork. MS-Office detailed knowledge of the functions, and detailed in depth knowledge of Matlab.</p> <p>Clear interest and passion for aerodynamics, in simulation tools, coding and in particularly for aerodynamics. </p> <p>Fluency in English and German required.</p> <p>Must have EU Passport or quickly apply and obtain a valid work permit</p>
