<p><strong>Role Description:</strong></p> <p>As Skyports continues to work with the leading eVTOL OEMs to design and develop our vertiports for their vehicles to use, you’ll be responsible for the airspace integration strategy, planning and implementation. This will involve providing guidance on national airspace policy as well as local airspace evaluation to ensure our vertiports can be developed, permitted and operated safely and efficiently. You’ll work closely with our vertiport planning, regulatory and commercial teams to ensure consistency in our approach to dealing with airspace integration challenges. You will also develop and own relationships with partner ANSPs and airspace divisions within regulatory authorities across all of our markets. You will focus on launching operations on Day 1 under the existing airspace rules as well as develop and validate design airspace concepts with innovative solutions that will help define how we operate in the future.</p> <p>You will ensure that our vertiports are sustainable, future-proofed and enable high-density flight operations by supporting your work with simulation and modelling tools.</p> <p>In this role, you will also be able to determine airspace requirements for vertiports in different geographies, jurisdictions and for aircraft manufacturers. The successful individual will be a key member of the team that will shape how we operate our vertiports.</p> <p>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute an airspace strategy for engaging with ANSPs, regulatory agencies and cities as part of vertiport permitting and certification process.</li> <li>Analyse existing airspace operating environment as part of vertiport network planning and route identification.</li> <li>Evaluate obstacle environment, airspace constraints and other operational risks for desired vertiport locations.</li> <li>Own relationships with ANSPs and airspace divisions within civil aviation authorities to jointly apply existing regulatory frameworks to enable Advanced Air Mobility.</li> <li>Participate in industry groups and related initiatives to co-develop future AAM Concepts of Operations, and influence policy, regulation and standards development and reform, specifically from an airspace perspective.</li> <li>Lead the production of responses to airspace modernisation and reform consultations.</li> <li>Develop and maintain relationships with OEM partners’ technical teams to understand their aircraft performance and technical requirements to ensure our vertiports are vehicle-agnostic from an airspace integration perspective.</li> <li>Develop a strategy for integration of vertiports at existing aerodromes and airports, specifically from an airspace integration perspective.</li> <li>Support with technology roadmap for VFR to IFR support at vertiports - specifically reforms to airspace structures and associated data for supporting infrastructure integration for IFR.</li> <li>Work with our capacity modelling team to provide airspace related inputs into the simulation to understand the airspace constraints of our vertiports.</li> <li>Lead the completion of airspace analyses and applications to regulatory authorities to change notified airspace.</li> <li>Based in London but required to travel around the world.</li> <li>Be an all-round team contributor.</li> </ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM) from an airport environment or at an ANSP.</li> <li>Experience in planning and designing flight procedures (SIDs/STARs/Route) and flight charts is preferred.</li> <li>Experience in aerodrome safeguarding.</li> <li>An understanding of the airspace regulatory framework and airspace change processes.</li> <li>Previous experience in airspace design and software simulation tools will be desirable, especially capacity simulation.</li> <li>Understanding of communications, navigation and surveillance (CNS) systems and future technologies.</li> <li>Comfort navigating through ambiguity. This is a new industry, and no one has all the answers.
