<p><strong>Operations Manager</strong></p> <p>Farnborough Airport Limited (FAL) is the owner and operator of the UK’s only dedicated business aviation airport. FAL handles approximately a third of London’s business aviation traffic and is the largest in the UK. FAL owns and operates both the airport and the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facilities, making its integrated operations unique to the market. From a leadership and business perspective, FAL and the Aviator Hampshire Hotel are managed together as a Group.</p> <p>Farnborough Airport limited is an equal opportunities employer, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation.</p> <p><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></p> <p>Farnborough Airport Limited is looking to recruit an Operations Manager to oversee the running of the Operations Team, reporting into the FBO Director.</p> <p><strong>About the role:</strong></p> <p>The Operations Manager will lead a large team of Operations Officers who focus on providing a safe, fast, and efficient handling of all aircraft movements through Farnborough Airport. Prompt and accurate communication is key to the provision of excellent customer service and the base to our success. The role will take overall responsibility for the safe and accurate sorting, collating, and transferring of technical and personal data enabling the production of the daily airport movement programme.</p> <p>Within this role you will work as part of a team to:</p> <ul> <li>Lead a large team, responsible for providing a safe, fast, and efficient handling of all aircraft movements through the Airport.</li> <li>Management responsibilities, including payroll management, conducting annual appraisals, and rota management to ensure sufficient department coverage</li> <li>Act as an escalation point for complex customer (crew) queries or concerns</li> <li>Be a subject matter expert in handling requests for the airport by sorting, collating, and transferring the information into the FBO’s operating system</li> <li>Support the transition and ongoing use of I6</li> <li>Work in partnership with the wider FBO Management team to support consistent high standards of customer and crew experience</li> <li>Be proficient and up to date on industry wide DfT and CAA enforced legislation</li> <li>Manage ATM performance to ensure that Aircraft movements are in line with ATC protocols</li> <li>Ensure that screening flights are managed in accordance with operating parameters</li> <li>Build and maintain strong working relationship with NATs to support their forecast movements, particularly around peak times, and implementation of any flow restrictions (Imparted by NATs)</li> <li>Keeping a strong relationship with base and key operators</li> <li>Liaising with UK Border Force and Counter Terrorism</li> <li>Attend company meetings as required</li> <li>Maintain and update the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for traffic and planning, ensuring accuracy</li> <li>Ensure that daily movements are accurately recorded and verified with ATC movements</li> <li>Any other duties as required</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you: Skills, Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience of working within an Aviation environment</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of airside safety requirements</li> <li>Experience of managing a large team</li> <li>Experience of working with data and providing timely reporting for senior management</li> <li>Experience of presenting to senior management and various stakeholders</li> <li>Full, clean driving license</li> <li>Must be able to meet CRC security clearance requirements</li> <li>Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with a perfect understanding of high quality and personal service.</li> <li>Ability to work shifts, including weekends (if required)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Additional spoken language/languages</li> <li>Previous experience in a similar role</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we can offer you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary</li> <li>25 days holiday per annum (pro-rata), plus statutory public holidays.</li> <li>Workplace pension scheme with enhanced employer contributions</li> <li>Life assurance</li> <li>Access to medical plan including a range of private treatments (after probation period)</li> <li>Company sick pay scheme</li> <li>Electric vehicle scheme (after 9 months of employment)</li> <li>Sustainable travel scheme</li> <li>Free onsite parking</li> <li>Cycle to work scheme</li> <li>Access to an Employee Assistance programme and helpline</li> <li>Discount on accommodation and food/beverage at affiliated hotel and pub</li> <li>Access to discount and savings scheme</li> <li>You’ll also get all kinds of other great perks, like social events and special employee offers</li> </ul>
