<p><strong>Mechanical Design Engineer for hypergolic thrust chambers (f/m/d)</strong></p> <p>We have a fantastic opportunity for suitably qualified candidates with talent, drive and ambition to join the Space Race and design the next generation of European Rocket.</p> <p>The jobholder is working as <strong>Mechanical Design Engineer for hypergolic thrust chambers (f/m/d) </strong>and<br /> is responsible for the following tasks:</p> <ul> <li>To take over the design of thrust chamber components, mainly in frame of the Astris kick-stage program, but also in other development projects for hypergolic propulsion</li> <li>To prepare and manage the design definition documentation (especially 3D CAD and drawings) and the so called Engineering Bill of Material (E-BOM) for components and assemblies. The design definition is set up in compliance with the manufacturing sequence; this require alignment and consideration of applicable manufacturing methods, esp. machining and welding technologies</li> <li>To manage the design configuration, including the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and to implement design changes and evolutions throughout further development towards flight qualification. This comprises internal changes (at product level), as well as changes with impact at system level (e.g. alignment of mechanical interfaces)</li> <li>To perform geometric analyzes (e.g. tolerances, stack-up, collision analysis) in order to contribute to the impact analysis in the frame of the change process, well as to validate design solutions</li> <li>To assess functional anomalies and production non-conformities, as well as to work closely together with the technical and industrial authority, production, quality and procurement departs throughout the product (development) lifecycle. This comprises esp. a close link with manufacturing during the production of parts and products under own design responsibility</li> <li> To define and design manufacturing, assembly, integration and test tools required throughout the manufacturing sequence for parts and produce under own design responsibility</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personnel requirements:</strong><br /> Strong collaborative mindset with team membership in an intercultural environment, rigor, capacity to<br /> analyze and synthesize, capacity to innovate and promote continuous improvement<br /> Creativity and open-mindedness to new ways of working</p> <p><strong>Required Educational Qualifications</strong><br /> Aerospace at least Bachelor's degree</p> <p><strong>Required work experience</strong><br /> Design Engineer at least 2 years<br /> Manufacturing / production at least over 2 years<br /> Construction at least over 2 years<br /> Technical documentation for at least 2 years<br /> Good knowledge of manufacturing technologies, especially machining, welding and additive manufacturing technologies</p> <p><br /> <strong>IT</strong><br /> MS Office at least in-depth application knowledge<br /> AutoCAD at least knowledge of detailed functions<br /> Catia V5 at least knowledge of detailed functions<br /> PLM knowledge<br /> CAE knowledge</p> <p><br /> <strong>Linguistic proficiency</strong><br /> Business fluent German<br /> Business fluent English</p>
