<p><strong>Certification / Qualification Engineer (m/w/d) Governmental Programs</strong></p> <p>You will join the Airworthiness Office of Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth and become part of the Chief<br /> Airworthiness Engineer's (CAE) Team for Governmental Programs to support the safety of our products<br /> by managing the Certification, Qualification and initial Airworthiness activities for your program; this<br /> includes new helicopter type certification, changes to existing helicopter type certificates and flight<br /> clearances.</p> <p><br /> The Certification Qualification Engineers within the CAE Team for Governmental Programs are part of<br /> many concurrent and transversal projects covering the complete range of Airbus Helicopters Group<br /> governmental fleet as well as certain national helicopters (Tiger, NH90, CH-53, SeaKing, SeaLynx).<br /> Each project involves various contributors (chief engineering, designers, internal and external<br /> specialists, customer support, prototype shop, final assembly line, ...). The Certification Qualification<br /> Engineer is the focal point for the Airworthiness Authorities with whom is negotiating the certification<br /> basis as well as the certification strategy and means of compliance (lab/ground/flight testing, safety<br /> analysis...) and authority involvement (document acceptance, test witnessing, in-house reviews...). the<br /> Certification/Qualification Engineer is responsible to ensure demonstration of compliance to the<br /> applicable airworthiness requirements to ensure their in-service safety. Responsible for leading the<br /> Certification and qualification activities necessary to meet the development and deliveries milestones<br /> (new and retrofit) of their program.</p> <p><br /> This results in a challenging transverse position, including negotiation internally but also with aviation<br /> Authorities worldwide, with great responsibilities, and a good overview of our products, of our systems<br /> and on our organization.</p> <p><br /> In direct contact with the Chief Engineer team, the different key contributors from the Design Office and<br /> Support Services, as well as with the Military Aviation Authorities and partner companies, the job holder<br /> main missions will be:</p> <ul> <li>Support the certification and qualification activities, including all associated project management tasks (planning, reporting, risk management...)</li> <li>Contribute to the establishment of the certification requirement baselines and type design definitions for future evolutions of the helicopter and coordinate their harmonization</li> <li>Develop and harmonize (internally / externally) the certification & qualification programs, including the identification of the means of compliance and associated demonstrations of compliance</li> <li>Coordinate the creation and delivery of those compliance demonstrations in accordance with the General milestones provided by the Chief Engineering team</li> <li>Manage the Airbus Helicopters Airworthiness network to ensure certification objectives are met</li> <li>Validate those demonstrations of compliance and harmonize them with Authorities</li> <li>Produce the certification / qualification synthesis documents and support in the harmonization of them with authorities</li> <li>Prepare airworthiness documentation for release to the Aviation Authorities or for approvals in in accordance with Airbus Military Design Organization Approval (DOA)</li> <li>Influence and contribute to the harmonization of the future qualification (e.g. in the frame of offers, ...)</li> <li>Contribute to the approval of flight clearance for serial and prototype flights</li> </ul> <p>In addition, the position offers the opportunity to:</p> <ul> <li>Support the validation of repairs, directives, concessions, service bulletins</li> <li>Be a key player for the harmonization of the certification processes, for continuous improvement and MDOA implementation</li> <li>Promote our Roles & Responsibilities and associated processes within Airbus Helicopter and in front of our Authorities</li> <li>Become the point of contact of all airworthiness/qualification topics relative to one or several variants of a specific helicopter program in front of internal customers/suppliers (LF, Project, Configuration ...) as well as external ones (authorities, partners)</li> <li>Become authorized signatory and responsible within the design assurance system including the whole process of certification and qualification</li> </ul> <p><br /> You will become part of the Chief Airworthiness Engineering (CAE) team for military helicopter programs<br /> within the Office of Airworthiness (model control center). The site is located in Donauwörth and offers<br /> the possibility of managing approval projects for new helicopter variants or<br /> Modifications of already approved helicopter configurations for the safety of our products<br /> work.</p> <p>The CAE team's airworthiness engineers for military helicopter programs are part of many<br /> various transversal projects involving the entire military fleet of Airbus Helicopters (NH90,<br /> TIGER) as well as some national helicopter types under the supervision of Airbus Helicopters (CH-53,<br /> SeaKing, SeaLynx) can cover each project encompasses a wide range of technical disciplines and actors (chief engineering, design, Construction, internal and external specialists, customer support, manufacturing, …). as<br /> Airworthiness Engineer, you are the point of contact for the military licensing authorities to<br /> To harmonize the approval basis, approval strategy and the type of verification. Furthermore<br /> it is important to ensure that the necessary evidence to meet the approval requirements in the<br /> provided within the specified development and delivery milestones.</p> <p>In direct cooperation with the project management within Chief Engineering, the various<br /> Project participants within the area of ??research and development as well as customer support, the<br /> involved partner companies and military licensing authorities, your main tasks are:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The management of approval projects including all associated project management tasks (planning, reporting, risk management, …)</li> <li>The creation of the approval basis and requirements baseline for modifications of existing or new helicopter variants</li> <li>The determination and coordination of the admission strategy</li> <li>The creation of verification programs and their coordination with the responsible departments, the chief engineer and the responsible authorities</li> <li>Coordination of the activities required for approval as part of the overall project planning</li> <li>Checking and validation of verification documents regarding compliance with airworthiness regulations or specifications completeness and mutual compatibility</li> <li>Coordination of activities to obtain flight clearances for test vehicles</li> <li>Provision of all relevant verification documents to the responsible authorities Contact person of the competent authorities in questions of approval The support of the chief engineer and program in the preparation of offers</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal qualification:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are a team player and preferably already have experience of working in international teams in different locations</li> <li>You are proactive, have good analytical and communication skills and a high assertiveness</li> <li>You have a problem-solving attitude and a desire for constant improvement, even under pressure and in a complex, highly regulated environment</li> <li>Customer and service orientation</li> <li>Confident demeanor</li> </ul> <p><strong>Please submit the CV in English and German !!</strong><br /> <br /> <strong>Required educational studies</strong><br /> Aerospace at least Master's / Diploma / Bachelor degree<br /> or<br /> Mechanical engineering at least a Master’s / Diploma / Bachelor degree<br /> or<br /> A university degree of 5 years or more preferably in aeronautics or mechanical engineering</p> <p><strong>Required work experience</strong><br /> Engineering at least over 3 years<br /> Project management at least over 2 years<br /> Approval of aircraft</p> <p><strong>IT</strong><br /> MS Office at least knowledge of detailed functions</p> <p><strong>Linguistic proficiency</strong><br /> German at least well versed (we be may be able to drop for outstanding candidates)<br /> Business level English<br /> Knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be a plus</p> <p><strong>other qualifications</strong><br /> Experience in the certification and qualification of aircrafts/helicopters and/or aircraft/helicopters<br /> systems<br /> Experience in the development of aircrafts/helicopters or aircraft/helicopter systems<br /> Experience of working in international projects and collaboration in a transnational team across<br /> borders would be a plus<br /> You are open, proactive and have the ability to assert yourself<br /> You are able to communicate complex topics to others and analyze complicated situations to<br /> find the right next step<br /> You are driven by the wish for continuous improvement and have a problem solving attitude<br /> You are good at organizing and coordinating as well as motivating and inspiring others<br /> You show a certain service mindedness towards the needs of our internal and external<br /> customers</p>
