Section Manager - Process Engineering

<p>Our client is a renowned Engine MRO in Malaysia with a production line specializing on the maintenance and overhaul of engine parts.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> They are currently looking for a&nbsp;<strong>Section Manager - Process Engineering</strong>, whom will be&nbsp;directly responsible to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of engineers.<br /> <br /> This position will be based in Malaysia, and relocation will be required.<br /> <br /> <strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deputise Engineering Manager across any functions as required including the Shop Floor Management (SFM) meetings, Management Meetings, Customer Review, OEM discussion, Request for Quotation (RFQ) review, etc.</li> <li>Lead a team of engineers under his/ her section. This typically includes training to ensure that personnel are updated with latest methods, procedures and requirements; work allocation and problem resolution, as well as participating in decisions for recruitment and performance evaluation.</li> <li>Develop and implement new repair processes as per plan<br /> Carry out continuous process improvement to improve quality, yield, cycle time and costs reduction.</li> <li>Verify and accountable for all engineering documentations released to the shop for accurate technical content, standardization of engineering documents and ensures that engineering documents are in accordance to approved technical data</li> <li>Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), as required</li> <li>Provide support to Production in improving effectiveness of production lines with regards to processes</li> <li>Liaise with technical team to develop and modify tools as and when necessary to improve specific process</li> <li>Conduct research on new technologies that will enable the Company to be market leaders in the industry</li> <li>Provide technical guidance to Engineers under his/her care; and/or intra sections</li> <li>Evaluate applicable changes from revised Original Engine Manufacturer (OEM) Manual and to incorporate it into internal organizational work instruction e.g. Process Instructions, Special Instructions, etc, as necessary</li> <li>Develop a professional working relationship with the shareholders and be able to share the knowledge and lesson learned</li> <li>Constant and active discussion with the shareholders to understand the process developments and increase technical knowledge</li> <li>Develop a succession plan and define goals for the team</li> <li>Develop and periodic update of training materials related to engineering processes used in the production floor</li> <li>Knowledge transfer and/or train the production or technical employees on the technical processes used in the production floor based on the approved training syllabus or materials</li> <li>Comply with and support Environmental Health &amp; Safety policies, rules and regulations at all times</li> <li>Perform other tasks as assigned by the superior or any other person designated.</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>Job Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum Degree in Aerospace or Material Science or Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or its equivalent</li> <li>Minimum of 8 years of working experience in Maintenance Repair and Overhaul within an aviation environment is an added advantage</li> <li>Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role</li> <li>Dynamic and tactful personality, high degree of professionalism and integrity, with excellent interpersonal skills</li> <li>Strong leadership qualities, result oriented, good follow through and possess good organization skills</li> <li>Interpret technical documents, Engine Manuals, Standard Practice Manual, perform analysis and provide recommendations</li> <li>Good knowledge and experienced in one or more of the following special processes: TIG Welding, Plasma Spray, Heat Treatment, Machining, Shot Peening, Welding Technology, Diffusion bonding/coating, Non-Destructive Test: RT (Digital Radiography) or Penetrant Testing (PT) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT)</li> <li>Self-driven, highly motivated, strong analytical thinking skill</li> <li>Able to work independently and prioritize workload to meet project timeliness in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Good knowledge of continuous improvement, quality management and lean principles</li> <li>Possess commercial awareness and basic financial management skills</li> <li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Bahasa Melayu</li> <li>Proficient in computer skills especially with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.</li> </ul> <p>Please&nbsp;<strong>APPLY NOW&nbsp;</strong>if you are interested with your latest up-to-date CV.</p>
