About this role
This 5-day intensive Aviation English language training is a preparatory course for the ICAO language proficiency level 4 or above. The course provides intensive training in Aviation English language communication skills at Intermediate-Advanced level, including language training in pilot and ATC vocabulary, terminology and standard and non-standard phraseology, where the emphasis is on emergency procedures, special and unusual requests, instructions etc. The course also gives the participants the opportunity for practicing plain English in an aviation context. It complies with the guidance provided by ICAO in the Manual of the Implementation of ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements and includes voice recordings, videos, animations, pictures, graphs, maps and charts. Also a wide selection of extracts from published ICAO documentation relevant to the pilots' and air traffic controllers' tasks are used to reinforce the language training. On conclusion of the course an assessment will be made in regard to the ICAO language proficiency rating scale. The result of the assessment will be documented on the certificate of course completion. <br />Content <br /> <br />Learning Objectives: On completion of the training, participants should have: improved their communicative competence in terms of increased fluency and accuracy in speaking on aviation-related matters improved the ability to use in a correct manner the ICAO standard phraseology understand the importance of using plain language in unusual and emergency situations improved understanding of aircraft emergencies and unusual requests developed their ability to read professional documents developed their vocabulary in a wide range of aviation-related topics<br /> <br />Target Group: Air crew and air traffic controllers who are required to meet the ICAO language proficiency requirements, as well as any other persons wishing to improve their aviation English language <br /> <br />Duration: 5 days (starting at 09:00 on the first day and ending at approximately 17:00).<br /> <br /> Click on the apply button to view further information on each course <br />
