Crew Resource Management (CRM) is simply defined as the application of the principles of human factors. This course is devoted to a detailed analysis of those human factors that can best optimizing human performance and reduce human error. It embraces those variables that influence individual, team, or crew performance.<br /> <br />This course will provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of the human factors affecting individual and team behavior and will focus on specific CRM skills within a comprehensive framework of standard operating procedures (SOP). It carefully follows the requirements of JAR-OPS 1/3.1005, JAR-OPS 1/3.1010, and JAR-OPS 1/3.1015 covering the criteria specified in ACJ 1&2 to JAR OPS 1/3.943.<br /><br />Attendees receive a comprehensive syllabus which includes hand outs of the presentations and additional human factors materials for further study or reference. <br /> <br />Content <br /> <br />Learning Objectives: At the completion of this course attendees will be able to: Understanding the nature of Human Error. Identify and predict potential Human Error. Identify strategies for reducing or controlling Human Error. Modify current CRM programs to include the most up to date human factor concepts. Adopt a credible, non-punitive policy toward human error (not violations). This does not mean we do not hold people accountable but it does recognize - people make honest mistakes. Demonstrate a commitment to taking action to reduce error-inducing conditions. Provide training in Threat & Error Management strategies for individuals and teams. Identify threats and deal with them before they become errors. Assist in assessing current and proposed policies and procedures. Enhance the professional standards / internal affairs process (re: analysis of specific acts and implications for the organization). Conduct investigations for individuals involved mishaps or other incidents. Conduct strategic planning or goals setting sessions. Develop training plans (assessment to application). Develop effective risk management practices. This course is a comprehensive, interactive, application-based program specifically designed to help understand the root cause of all error whether it be flight crew, maintenance, or organizational. NB: JAA TO also offers the following courses for CRM Trainers: Pilot CRM Assessment Skills Workshop CRM Facilitator Training for Ground Instructors Train the Trainers Workshop <br /> <br />Target Group: All employees within aviation companies and maintenance organizations - including key post-holders, flight safety facilitator, air crews, accountable, quality, maintenance, and training managers; the nominated SMS manager; departmental heads, and operations managers.<br /> <br />The course will also fulfill the needs of regulators from aviation authorities and representatives from industry.<br /> <br />This course will fulfill the requirements of JAR-OPS 1 and 3 for: Flight crew members, cabin crew members (Initial CRM Course) Individuals conducting operator proficiency checks: Type Rating Examiner (TRE), Class Rating Examiner (CRE), TRE, CRE or a Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE). Individuals conducting the Initial Operator's Crew Resource Management (CRM) training Individuals developing their company Operator's CRM Training Program. Individuals updating their CRM recurrent training program. Personnel used by the company to integrate elements of CRM into conversion training. Pre-requisites An interest in achieving increased knowledge in the understanding of Human Factors related to aviation and the concepts of Crew Resource Management as it applies to the different working environments <br /> <br />Duration: 3 full days, starting at 9:00 each day and finishing approx. at 17.00 on the first two days.
