About this role
<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>To safely and efficiently plan and manage daily baggage operations of turnaround (including build-up and breakdown of arrival/ transfer/departure baggage).</p> <p>Plan and manage all resource in the area to deliver an efficient and high-performing operation that meets customer requirements and supports overall OTP.</p> <p><strong>Plan </strong></p> <p>Accountable for planning, control and performance of resource along the baggage process to support customer satisfaction and overall OTP for aircraft turnaround. Opportunities for maximising availability and utilisation of assets and resource across Airside Operations should be reviewed continuously to manage cost effectiveness.</p> <p><strong>Deploy </strong></p> <p>Deliver savings from the implementation of optimal task allocation, process efficiency, and improved resource management.</p> <p>Responsible for on-time deployment of resources (people and equipment) to execute the baggage process to time, quality and cost.</p> <p><strong>Lead</strong> </p> <p>Lead regular reviews of task start and end times, resource utilisation as part of plan-control-review cycle and continuous improvement.</p> <p>Responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of inspection, audit and maintenance are carried out within the area with action plans for any areas of non-compliance or risk.</p> <p>Ensures the safety of staff, by support and development of a culture where all the people working in Baggage and Cargo Logistic department possess the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely, feel respected and are engaged in helping everyone stay safe. Role model for the desired safe behaviours, wear the appropriate PPE, lead with safety, seek opportunities to celebrate successes and achievements and challenge others when risks are seen</p> <p><strong>Execute</strong> </p> <p>Accountable for the day to day baggage process with timely delivery against defined SLAs and within cost (for build-up and break-down of baggage and associated activities) with robust methods to measure performance.</p> <p>Responsible for identifying areas under-performing or at risk, and take the necessary actions to be rectified through targeted action plans.</p> <p>Work with other managers to identify and re-occurring trends or issues that are impact, or at risk of, impacting the operation. Look for innovative ways to tackle such issues.</p> <p>Present to Manager Baggage and Cargo Logistics and Manager Airside Support the relevant annual budget information in relation to resource and CAPEX requirements.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Degree or Honours (12+3)</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>8+ yrs relevant industry experience preferable with a major airline or ground handling company.</p> <p>.</p> <p><strong>Salary & Benefits:</strong></p> <p>We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE.
