Simulator Support Technician

<p>We have been commissioned by one of the worlds’ largest providers of Flight Crew Training to source a Simulator Support Technician on a permanent basis for their business unit in Dubai.</p> <p>As a simulator support engineer, you will be responsible for activities in the following areas:</p> <p>•&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Carrying out and possibly supervising all preventive and corrective maintenance actions, as detailed in the company quality documents, to achieve required availability and reliability on one or more flight training devices.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Will be part of a dynamic team of technical staff that will be accountable to meet a pre-defined set of technical measurement criteria for simulator performance (reporting metrics), ex down time, lost time, customer reliability etc.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Briefing and debriefing customers in a professional manner on a regular basis. May also be required to answer technical questions to airline customers.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Providing technical advice to customers and may be asked to conduct meetings with customers and/or regulatory agencies.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Maintaining an excellent relationship with any and all regulatory agencies.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Recommending and developing new procedures for testing, maintenance or repair<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Training and mentoring more junior staff<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Assists in the preparation of cost estimates where appropriate.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Participating in performance reviews for other staff members.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;May be required to perform light administrative duties such as arranging hotel accommodations for customers or helping customers with schedule conflicts.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ensuring that all technical information in the organization is propagated to co workers<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Interfacing with subject matter experts within the companies training network to help resolve open issues on the training devices<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Debugging and troubleshooting complex hardware and software problems originating in both the flight training devices and the facility.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Interfacing with local contractors outside the facility, if necessary, to help maintain optimum operations.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Debugging and troubleshooting complex problems spanning a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: hydraulic systems, visual systems, avionics systems.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Maintaining proper configuration control of all training devices<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Assisting as and when necessary in simulator testing using flight testing documentation such as Production Test Guides, or other Company and/or OEM testing documents.</p> <p>Desired Qualifications:-</p> <p>•&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of QTG reading, interpretation and understanding.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of the Quality Management System and is in continuous compliance with its requirements.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Technical College Diploma in electronics or aviation; and at least 5 years related experience<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken and written<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Highly Customer oriented and must be able to deal tactfully in sensitive situations.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Advanced understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Advanced understanding of aviation training business.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to aviation<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Advanced computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Must possess superior troubleshooting skills as well as having in depth knowledge of how to use electronic test equipment as well as how to use advanced software diagnostic utilities.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of at least one of the following operating systems; Unix, Linux; WindowsNT/XP ; AIX<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of software languages C and FORTRAN, with ability to write code.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of hydraulic systems.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of avionics systems.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of simulator visual systems.<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of computer networking<br /> •&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;In depth knowledge of local and international regulations (FAA and JAA), with demonstrated experience, as they pertain to flight training devices.</p> <p>If the above opportunity is of interest to you please forward a copy of your CV to cassie.shaw@zenon.aero</p> <p>Zenon Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in regards to this position.</p>
